IBM Watson Health will integrate an automatic image registration application from medical software provider Blackford Analysis into IBM's Merge PACS artificial intelligence-based radiology workflow platform.
Merge PACS is designed to simplify medical image reading by consolidating multiple reading specialty systems, handling large volumes of images, and working in diverse reading environments.
The image registration application from the Blackford platform automatically maps images to prior studies and ensures that this information is available to the radiologist any time they open an imaging exam. Integrating Blackford's automatic image registration application into Merge PACS will allow clinicians to locate and compare past and present imaging data quickly, ultimately enhancing the quality of reporting, Blackford said.
