Limited sales opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a stronger Swedish krona hampered PACS vendor Sectra in its 2020/2021 fiscal third quarter.
For the period (end-January 31), Sectra had net sales of 394.2 million Swedish krona, ($46.5 million U.S.), down 13.8% compared with the 457.4 million kronor ($53.9 million) reported in the third quarter last year. The vendor had profit before tax of 67.8 million kronor ($7.9 million), compared with profit before tax of 100.7 million kronor ($11.9 million U.S.) in the same period the year before.
Although sales and earnings were down from the prior year, the firm noted that the third quarter of 2019/2020 was a record-breaking quarter, and it was still pleased with the results.
In good news, order bookings increased 38.7% to 598 million kronor ($70.4 million). Of those bookings, 17% were recognized as revenue during the quarter and a further 22% to 32% will be recognized within the year, Sectra said.
