IBM Watson Health debuted the latest version of its IBM iConnect Access diagnostic viewer and image exchange software at the virtual meeting of the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) 2021.
The zero-download web viewer helps providers aggregate, exchange, and access medical imaging data with real-time collaboration. The latest release includes an optional 3D interactive segmentation tool that can create 3D digital anatomic models, editing tools, conference folders for teaching files, enhanced CT and MR service-object pair class viewing, preconfigured email addresses, emailing view-only studies, and enhanced clinical viewing.
The latest release also lays the groundwork for the viewer's planned 3D interactive printing feature, IBM Watson Health said. The firm has entered into an agreement with Ricoh USA to develop software to create 3D-printed anatomical models. The firms want to make 3D technology more widely accessible to healthcare providers and simplify the model creation process, they said.
