Novarad announced the launch of a software-only version of its medical information sharing product, CryptoChart.
CryptoChart was designed to enable physicians to share medical images and medical chart information with a QR code rather than having to burn a CD or create usernames and passwords, according to a company release.
The original CryptoChart included a small, networked router and a compact QR code printer, which are now not required for the software version but will remain available in cases where hardware is needed. Providers can use existing virtual machines, desktops, networks, and printers with the new version, Novarad said.
CryptoChart is PACS and EMR agnostic, which allows providers to download the DICOM files for import into their PACS, the company said.
