Storage provider Infortrend Technology has introduced its EonStor GS storage offering for PACS.
Designed to be expandable as needed, EonStor GS also features a redundant controller design that supports high availability and fast access to images, according to the vendor. Multiple workstations can open up PACS images within three to five seconds, the company said.
Up to four of the company's GS appliances can be added, enabling storage capacity of dozens of petabytes in a cluster, the company said. A single namespace file system is used, obviating the need for IT specialists to change PACS settings as the storage cluster expands.
EonStor GS is based on an all-flash model and supports a cluster tier configuration; current patient data is stored on the high-performance GS, while old data is migrated to the entry-level GS, according to the company. The data paths remain unchanged, however.
