Enterprise imaging and digital pathology vendor Sectra had a 1.2% increase in net sales and a small dip in operating profit in its second quarter of fiscal 2021/2022.
For the period (end-October 31), Sectra had net sales of 418.2 million Swedish krona ($46.2 million U.S.), up from 413.2 million krona ($45.7 million) in the fiscal second quarter of last year. Operating profit dipped, however, by 6.6% from 89.6 million krona ($9.9 million) a year ago to reach 83.7 million krona ($9.2 million).
In its imaging IT solutions business, Sectra generated second-quarter net sales of 374.9 million krona ($41.4 million), up 10.7% from the 338.6 million krona ($37.4 million) reported in the second quarter of 2020/21. The firm had operating profit of 91.9 million ($10.2 million), essentially flat from the 92.4 million krona ($10.2 million) produced in the second quarter last year.
The company noted that it's seeing a trend among healthcare providers toward cloud-based systems, both for new and existing customers.
