A Ghanian startup called InstaRad is offering an on-demand teleradiology platform with the goal of connecting radiologists with hospitals in Africa and decreasing delays in interpretation of urgent imaging studies, according to an article published online May 30 on Disrupt Africa.
Over 100 radiologists are currently using the platform, which enables hospitals to request interpretations from radiologists and for radiologists to provide interpretations for multiple hospitals, according to the Disrupt Africa report.
Currently active in Ghana and Nigeria, InstaRad plans to add services in Ethiopia and Malawi in the second quarter. It's now seeking grants and investment to expand to a total of 10 African countries by the end of the year, Disrupt Africa reported.
The company was co-founded by Seth Quansah and Ernest Appiah after the loss of loved ones due to extended wait times for urgent imaging exams, according to the article.
