Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas is partnering with medical device company Medovate to promote Medovate's Safer Injection for Regional Anesthesia (SAFIRA) with Konica Minolta's ultrasound-guided procedures in the U.S.
SAFIRA is designed to limit injection pressure and automatically stop injection at high pressures, which can reduce the risk of nerve injury and improve patient safety, according to the firms. The medical device also cuts out the necessity for an assistant to inject the anesthetic at the required pressure while the anesthesiologist inserts the needle tip using ultrasound guidance.
Now, a single anesthesiologist is all that's required.
