Swedish radiation oncology firm Elekta of Stockholm has signed an agreement to deliver its Elekta Neuromag, a magnetoencephalography (MEG) device for noninvasive registration of nerve cell activity, to the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit in Cambridge, U.K.
The facility will use the technology to measure the intensity of magnetic fields generated by electrical activity in the brain to understand and improve treatment of functional disorders, and conduct functional mapping and measurement of brain activity in real-time, Elekta said.
