RSNA names new officers for 2001

The Radiological Society of North America has announced the appointment of several officers for 2001. The announcements were made at the organization's conference in Chicago last month.

Dr. Jerry Petasnick was named president of the RSNA. Petasnick is chairman of the department of diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Lukes Medical Center in Chicago, a position he has held for 12 years. An RSNA board member for the past seven years, Petasnick has also served as a radiology professor at Rush Medical College since 1978.

Dr. Nick Bryan has also been installed as president-elect of the RSNA. Chairman of the RSNA's board of directors for the past year, Dr. Bryan is also a professor of radiology and is radiology department chair at the University of Pennsylvania Health System. He has also worked on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Neuroradiology, Radiology, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, according to the RSNA.

In other appointments, Dr. Peggy Fritzsche has been named chairman of the RSNA board of directors. A board member since 1995, Fritzsche is also medical director of the Riverside MRI Center in Riverside, CA, and clinical professor of radiology at the Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, CA.

Finally, Dr. Theresa McLoud has been appointed to a six-year term on the RSNA board of directors. McLoud is chief of thoracic and cardiac radiology and is director of education for the radiology department of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
