VIENNA - Ferrania Imaging Technologies showcased the latest addition to its medical printer line, the LifeImager Referral print system, at the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) this weekend.
The inkjet-based system is comprised of a Canon Pixma iP 8500 printer, Ferrania's LifeWeb DICOM software, and the company's OptiJet cartridges and paper, according to the vendor.
Ferrania said that the LifeImager Referral system can print images from a wide range of modalities, including ultrasound, MRI, CT, PET, nuclear medicine, CR, and DR.
In other news, the Cairo Montenotte, Italy-based vendor reported a clutch of recent sales contracts at the conference. The Congregazione Fatebenefratelli - Regione Meridionale group of hospitals in southern Italy is adding Ferrania's LifeWeb PACS, LifeImager 6000, LifeVision DR 961 DR equipment, and LifeWeb Links DICOM interfaces to three additional sites in its healthcare network.
The Policlinico Umberto I University Hospital of Rome has awarded the firm a five-year managed service contract, as well as a system upgrade to its existing RIS/PACS, Ferrania said. Lastly, the firm announced that the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Montpellier in France has completed the installation its third Ferrania LifeImaging DR system, the LifeVision DR 982.
