GE Healthcare is introducing a range of new cardiac imaging technology at this week's American College of Cardiology (ACC) meeting in Atlanta.
GE is also shining the spotlight on its Discovery VCT 64-slice PET/CT scanner, as well as its new Ventri nuclear cardiology system and cardiac imaging techniques developed with its high-definition MR (HDMR) system.
The company has added a new series of system control features for its Innova cardiovascular and interventional imaging systems. New features include a new touch screen, tableside controls designed to enhance productivity and ease of use for cardiologists, and an integrated uninterruptible power supply (UPS) to continue fluoroscopy in the event of power interruption.
The Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based firm has also added a redesigned ECG editing screen to its Muse cardiology information system. The new screen more closely resembles paper ECGs, GE said.
In addition, GE said that it has completed the 5000th installation of its Vivid 7 Dimension cardiovascular ultrasound system. The Children's Hospital in Denver received the milestone system, according to the vendor.
