Women's imaging vendor Hologic of Bedford, MA, reported that the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has given its final approval to a consent agreement regarding the acquisition of the Mammotest prone bed breast biopsy system from Denver-based Fischer Imaging last year.
Hologic agreed to sell all the intellectual property related to MammoTest to Siemens Medical Solutions for a cash payment of $6.5 million. Hologic will retain a royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide right and license to use the intellectual property relating to the MammoTest system.
