Women's imaging vendor Hologic has launched an upgraded version of its NovaSure Advanced endometrial ablation system.
NovaSure Advanced reduces abnormal uterine bleeding by allowing clinicians to ablate the lining of the uterus with radiofrequency energy to the endometrium. The new version has a smaller, 6-mm diameter designed to increase patient comfort and improve ease of use for physicians, as well as a cervical seal that creates an increased sealing surface within the cervical canal, according to the firm.
The device is approved for use in the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Australia, Hologic said.
