Orthopedic imaging informatics developer Medstrat has received Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance for its echoeSystem orthopedic PACS software.
The package allows for surgeons to view patients' studies on workstations locally and/or across computer networks at distributed locations, according to the Downers Grove, IL-based firm. Studies can be securely accessed on echoeSystem PACS servers over an intranet or remotely via extranet or Internet connections, Medstrat said.
The PACS offering automates offsite data backup for disaster recovery of archives. Referring or collaborating physicians can also receive secure Internet access to images, according to the vendor.
