The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has launched an advisory committee membership nomination portal.
The online, interactive system allows interested individuals to submit nominations for membership to any of the agency's 33 advisory committees. It will allow nominees to submit their application from the FDA's website, creating a paperless, efficient process that will enable the FDA to accept, evaluate, and nominate qualified individuals for membership.
The system will store applicant information and make it possible for the FDA to assess the entire applicant pool and identify qualified candidates. Currently, applications must either be emailed or mailed to the agency, the FDA said.
