Radiologic technology instructor Patricia Giordano has won the 2000 Varian Award for Achievement in Radiation Therapy.
Giordano, who is a program director at Gwynedd-Mercy College in Philadelphia, began her career as a certified RT in 1965. After working in the department of radiation oncology at Temple University Hospital for nearly two decades, she earned a master’s degree in 1985 from Beaver College in Glenside, PA. Giordano became the program director at the college in 1989.
She also serves as a site visitor and board member on the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology for the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.
The award, a $1,500 travel grant, is sponsored by Varian Medical Systems.
