Swissray revenues fall in second quarter

Sharp declines in its conventional x-ray and OEM business led to a 52.2% drop in second-quarter revenue for x-ray firm Swissray International. For the period (end-December 31), the New York City-based firm had net sales of $3.1 million, compared with $6.4 million in the same quarter last year. In a bright spot, sales of Swissray's ddRMulti-System digital x-ray units climbed 10.4%.

For the first six months of its fiscal year, Swissray had net sales of $7 million, a 31.3% decline compared with the $10.1 million posted for the same period in 1998. The firm had a net loss for the first half of the year of $10 million, compared with a loss of $7.1 million for the same six-month period in 1998.
