Global Telemedix has formed a strategic alliance with systems integrator Superior Consultant Holdings. The agreement will combine Westford, MA-based Global Telemedix’s work-in-progress TeleConsult software with Southfield, MI-based Superior Consultant’s online connectivity experience, according to the firms.
A Web-based application, TeleConsult allows for confidential and secure collaboration and consultation among physicians and consulting specialists in different locations, using complex clinical multimedia images, such as echocardiography, CT, MRI, and x-ray studies, according to the firm.
Available through an application service provider (ASP) model, TeleConsult is currently undergoing beta testing at eight U.S. medical institutions, including Massachusetts General Hospital, the University of Chicago Medical Center, and the University of Michigan Health System.
