Toshiba America Medical Systems and the American Healthcare Radiology Administrators (AHRA) of Sudbury, MA, have selected the recipients of their third annual Putting Patients First grant program.
Grants of up to $7,500 are intended to help healthcare facilities improve patient care and safety in diagnostic imaging by funding programs, training, and seminars in the areas of CT, MRI, ultrasound, vascular, and x-ray imaging, according to Tustin, CA-based Toshiba.
Program recipients and their projects include:
- Children's Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha, NE -- decorating MRI modalities with child-friendly art
- Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO -- using hypnosis to reduce MRI sedation of patients
- Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville -- producing and providing to patients a wallet-sized card to record CT scan information
- Overlake Hospital Medical Center in Bellevue, WA -- implementing a radiation dose awareness program
- Pinedale and Marbleton Medical Clinics of Sublette County Rural Health Care District in Pinedale, WY -- creating educational material for children about x-ray and CT exams
- St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ -- educating patients and parents about x-ray and MRI exams
