Dear AuntMinnie Member,
Are you getting paid what you're worth? That's a question on everyone's minds in these difficult economic times. Fortunately, AuntMinnie.com offers a great tool for you to find out: our SalaryScan database.
Updated every year, SalaryScan lets you search on salaries for radiology professionals with jobs similar to yours -- even those who live in your state or region. It's a great way to figure out whether you should stay put in your current job or start looking to jump ship.
We've now opened the 2011 SalaryScan survey to data collection, and we're asking all AuntMinnie members to take a few minutes to fill out a short survey on their compensation and benefits that will be used to update this year's data.
You'll be helping yourself and your colleagues, and what's more, all SalaryScan survey respondents will be entered into a drawing for an Apple iPad. You can fill out the survey anonymously, but if you want to enter the iPad drawing you'll need to give us contact information.

Radiologists and patient contact
In other news, should radiologists engage in more contact with patients? That's the question asked by a new story we're featuring this week in our Imaging Leaders Digital Community.
The article is based on a study that surveyed patient opinions on how they want their imaging results delivered, and how quickly. The researchers found that patients didn't necessarily care whether their radiologist or their primary care or referring physician contacted them -- they just wanted results more quickly than they're currently getting them.
Based on their results, the authors of the study believe there's an opportunity for radiologists to engage in more patient contact and enhance their visibility -- an important consideration in this era of radiology "commoditization."
