Dear AuntMinnie Member,
The AHRA meeting opened this week in Washington, DC, and we're bringing you coverage of the show in our Imaging Leaders Digital Community.
For example, we have a new article on strategies for improving patient satisfaction. As radiology strives to become more patient-focused, monitoring and improving satisfaction are key for imaging practices, according to William Johnson, system director of patient experience at Memorial Health System in Springfield, IL.
Mr. Johnson shared some intriguing observations on the "mechanics" and "humanics" of excellent service, and the role of left-brain and right-brain thinking in delivering quality care. Learn more by clicking here, and look for more AHRA coverage this week.
MRI of newborns
We're also highlighting an article this week on the use of MRI to scan newborns to learn more about brain development.
In an article published in JAMA Neurology, researchers from California and Hawaii revealed their findings from a series of 3-tesla scans on healthy newborns. The researchers wanted to find out what MRI could tell them about certain aspects of early brain development, and how development might vary according to gender, gestational period, and other factors.
The researchers believe the study helps fill a void of imaging research detailing early postnatal brain development in healthy-term infants. Read more by clicking here, or visit our MRI Digital Community at mri.auntminnie.com.
