Physician services firm Envision Healthcare has completed the acquisition of Tampa, FL-based Sunshine Radiology. Terms of the deal to acquire Sunshine's 35-physician hospital-based practice were not disclosed.
With the addition of Sunshine, Envision now offers radiology physician services to approximately 80 healthcare facilities, including more than 55 hospitals, across the state of Florida, the company said.
Envision characterized the acquisition as being in line with its goal of joining forces with highly regarded physician groups in Florida. The combination of comprehensive resources, infrastructure, and expertise, as well as the patient-care focus of its clinicians, will strengthen the firm's ability to offer high-quality and cost-effective healthcare, it said.
In addition to physician-led services, Envision provides ambulatory surgery center management, post-acute care, and medical transportation at more than 780 hospitals in 45 states. The company also owns and operates more than 260 surgical centers and one surgical hospital.
