The Cancer Profiler, featured on the American Cancer Society Web site, aids prostate cancer patients and physicians in their research for treatment options using published medical studies. The interactive decision-support tool, introduced in November 1999, is the result of a partnership between the Society and Seattle-based NexCura. According to an annual report by the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, an estimated 198,000 men in the United States will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year. The chance of survival is nearly 100% with early detection.
