The Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Center for Healthcare Information Management (CHIM) will reunite following a bylaw change to allow corporate members to join HIMSS. Reunification of the groups, which have operated separately since 1989, will take place in January.
Current elected representatives on the HIMSS and CHIM boards of directors will be integrated into one group, according to the societies. Board leadership assignments already in place will be maintained to provide overall strategic guidance for the new organization, the societies said.
