The American College of Radiology (ACR) is planning a "Face of Radiology" campaign that seeks to educate patients, payors, government officials, and other healthcare providers on the value of radiology.
Scheduled to begin in early 2008, the campaign will explain what radiologists do and why their education, training, skills, and experience are vital in providing the highest quality patient care, according to the Reston, VA-based society.
The campaign will utilize grassroots efforts, advertising, public relations, patient education materials, and social media to deliver and reinforce the message, according to the ACR. It will also include patient education materials, both print and electronic, which radiologists can provide to patients in face-to-face "teachable moments," the society said.
A series of videos will also be available for radiologists to show in their offices and waiting rooms.
