RLI unveils 2013 leadership recipients

The American College of Radiology's (ACR) Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) on July 25 bestowed its 2013 Leadership Luminary Award on Dr. Daniel H. Johnson Jr. and Dr. Alexander Margulis.

The Leadership Luminary Award is an honorary designation given annually to radiologists and related professionals who possess exceptional experience and demonstrate an unusually high level of leadership in organized radiology or organized medicine.

Johnson is a practicing diagnostic radiologist and clinical professor of radiology at Tulane University. He is the former president of the World Medical Association and the American Medical Association (AMA), where he was previously vice-speaker and then speaker of the AMA House of Delegates.

Margulis is a clinical professor of radiology at Cornell University in New York. For 26 years he served as a professor and the chair of the department of radiology at the University of California, San Francisco. He also is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academies and a foreign member of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Russian Academy of Medicine.
