The Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, the Society of Interventional Radiology's (SIR) peer-reviewed scientific journal, along with the SIR Foundation, will present awards for clinical research and laboratory investigations at SIR's annual scientific meeting.
The 2013 JVIR Editor's Award for Outstanding Clinical Research Paper and the Award for Outstanding Laboratory Investigation will be presented during the March 24 plenary session at SIR's annual meeting San Diego.
Eliseo Vano, PhD, an adviser to the Spanish Ministry of Health for radiation protection in medical exposures, received the award for outstanding clinical research paper for "Radiation-Associated Lens Opacities in Catheterization Personnel: Results of a Survey and Direct Assessments."
Dr. Marwan Moussa, from the University of Arkansas Medical School's department of radiology, received the award for outstanding laboratory investigation for "Adjuvant Liposomal Doxorubicin Markedly Affects Radiofrequency Ablation-Induced Effects on Periablational Microvasculature."
Six additional Editor's Award Honorees for Excellence in published clinical and laboratory investigations were also named:
