The Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) is supporting the Cancer Cure Moonshot Initiative, which would include medical imaging in the development of new methods to treat and cure cancer.
In its policy statement, MITA proposes the following:
- Advancing novel medical imaging technologies to move beyond viewing anatomy to be able to study pathophysiology and encourage new discoveries
- Promoting new applications of existing technologies to screen for more cancers, more accurately distinguish between aggressive and nonaggressive cancers, and optimize therapy decisions
- Enhancing imaging data infrastructure and analytics to create an interoperable system for accessing and evaluating the data contained in medical images stored on servers worldwide
MITA is part of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
