The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) plans to participate in Vice President Joe Biden's National Cancer Moonshot Summit, to be held June 29 at Howard University in Washington, DC.
The meeting will gather scientists, oncologists, donors, and patients to discuss cancer research, care, and treatment. ASCO's chief executive officer, Dr. Clifford Hudis, will share the society's perspective on how to accelerate the discovery of new cancer treatments, as well as issues related to enrollment in clinical trials, access to care, federal funding, and information technology and interoperability.
Biden launched the Cancer Moonshot Initiative in January.
