The Medical Imaging and Technology Alliance (MITA) is commending Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) for introducing bipartisan legislation to repeal the medical device tax.
The 2.3% tax was created in 2013 to help fund the Affordable Care Act, but it was suspended for two years on December 31, 2015.
MITA said that full repeal of the tax will ensure continued innovation leading to job creation through investments in research and development.
