ASRT to award Life Member status to three longstanding members

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) will award Life Member status to three members during its Annual Governance and House of Delegates Meeting in Albuquerque, NM on June 26.

The recipients are Donna Newman of Fargo, ND; Marilyn Sackett of Missouri City, TX; and Joseph Whitton of Mount Sinai, NY.

Life Member status, established in 1938, is awarded to active ASRT members who have maintained continuous membership for at least 30 years and demonstrated sustained service to the society and the radiologic science profession.

Newman has been an ASRT member since 1995 and served as ASRT president in 2002. She also served as president of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists from 2018 to 2022 and currently supervises the nuclear medicine department at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Sackett, a registered technologist since 1964, is the namesake of the ASRT Foundation's Marilyn Sackett Leadership Scholarship and co-founder of the ASRT Emerging Research Scholarship.

Whitton has been an ASRT member for 34 years and has held multiple board leadership roles including secretary, speaker of the House, and vice speaker.
