The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has announced that Rep. Rick Lazio (R-NY) has reaffirmed his commitment to introduce the Consumer Assurance of Radiologic Excellence (CARE) Act during this session of Congress.
The bill, which has 15 confirmed co-sponsors in the House of Representatives, would establish educational and credentialing standards for personnel who deliver radiation therapy and perform all types of medical imaging examinations except sonography and echocardiography, according to the Albuquerque-based society.
The ASRT expects the bill to be introduced within the next few weeks.
