The American College of Radiology has named Charles Scott, Ph.D., as director of statistics. In his new position, Scott will direct statistical efforts for two major grants from the National Cancer Institute: the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group (RTOG) and the Patterns of Care Study (PCS), the ACR said.
Scott has been with the Reston, VA-based organization since 1985, most recently as associate director of quality of life research. He will replace Thomas F. Pajak, Ph.D., who has held the statistical director position since 1981 and earlier this year stated his desire to step down. Pajak will remain with the unit as a senior statistician, according to the ACR.
