"American Idol" finalist Lindsey Cardinale planned to be a radiologist, according to People magazine. Of course, the 19-year-old student at Southeastern Louisiana University in Ponchatoula put her schooling on hold when Simon Cowell and company beckoned her to Hollywood (People, March 7, 2005).
Cardinale is a self-taught singer who is known for her throaty, country-tinged vocals. "American Idol" airs tonight on the Fox network.
