Siemens Healthcare has appointed Dr. Gregory Sorensen as CEO of the company in the U.S., effective June 1, the vendor said. He will oversee Canadian operations for Siemens as well.
Sorensen succeeds Randy Hill, who served as interim CEO. He will be responsible for leading the marketing, sales, service, and support functions for Siemens Healthcare in the U.S., including medical imaging, therapy, healthcare information technology, and laboratory diagnostics. He will be based at the U.S. headquarters in Malvern, PA.
Sorensen currently serves as professor of radiology and health sciences and technology at Harvard Medical School. He is also a faculty member of the Harvard-MIT division of health sciences and technology, and is co-director of the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital.
