The recent meeting of the President's Cancer Panel, part of the Biden administration's National Cancer Plan, addressed ways that the plan seeks to end cancer as we know it through several efforts, including developing effective treatments, eliminating inequities, and maximizing data utility among others.
Jeff Michalski, MD, president of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), spoke at the panel and shared how ASTRO and the radiation oncology community are contributing to the plan's goals.
He shared his takeaways from the panel with AuntMinnie.com, as well as how the Radiation Oncology Case Rate (ROCR) program, proposed by the society in 2023, would help with these goals.
