The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) awarded Philip Costello, MD, the 2024 ARRS Gold Medal. Costello is a former society president and chair of the Roentgen Fund Board of Trustees.
The award has honored illustrious service to radiology for more than four decades. The medal is awarded to physicians with a substantial record of service who continue to provide distinguished service to both the practice and science of medical imaging and its allied sciences, ARRS said.
Costello chairs the six scholarship programs of the society's Roentgen Fund. He was also the society's 118th president, serving from 2018 to 2019. He will be recognized as the 2024 ARRS Gold Medalist during the opening ceremony of the ARRS annual meeting in May in Boston, MA.
