The American College of Radiology (ACR) has named Alan Matsumoto, MD, as chair of its board of chancellors.
Most recently, Matsumoto served as vice chair of the board. Previously, he was chair of the ACR's Board of Chancellors (BOC) Commission on Interventional and Cardiovascular Imaging and a member of the ACR Council Steering Committee. He is chair of the department of radiology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and is the first Asian American named chair of the BOC, the ACR noted.
Christoph Wald, MD, PhD, will serve as vice chair. Wald will also continue to serve as chair of the ACR Commission on Informatics. He previously served as a member of the BOC and ACR Council Steering Committee. Wald is chair of the department of radiology at UMass-Chan Lahey in Burlington, MA, and a professor of radiology at UMass-Chan Medical School.
The announcement was made at ACR’s 2024 annual meeting in Washington, DC.
