A Pennsylvania hospital is in mourning following the loss of one of its radiologic technologists (RT), who was fatally shot in a shooting spree at a fitness club in Bridgeville, PA, on August 4.
Elizabeth Gannon was one of three women who were killed at an L.A. Fitness club by George Sodini, who then committed suicide. Nine other women were injured in the shooting.
Gannon was a radiologic technologist at West Penn Allegheny Health System's Allegheny Orthopedics facility, where she had worked for the past 13 years.
"Everyone at West Penn Allegheny Health System is extremely saddened by the loss of Elizabeth Gannon," said Dr. Patrick DeMeo, director of the division of sports medicine and chair of the department of orthopedic surgery at Allegheny General Hospital. "She was also a wonderful, caring person whose smile would brighten the day of both her colleagues and patients."
