The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation said it has awarded nearly $250,000 in scholarships for the 2013-2014 academic year.
The 71 radiologic science professionals and students represent the largest group to receive scholarships in the organization's history, ASRT said.
The entry-level scholarship program lends financial support for outstanding students working to complete a radiologic technology or radiation therapy program.
This year's awards include the following:
- 4 Elekta Radiation Therapy Scholarships at $5,000 apiece
- 5 Jerman-Cahoon Student Scholarships at $2,500 each
- 5 Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarships at $4,000 apiece
- 4 Medical Imaging Educators Scholarships at $5,000 each
- 10 Professional Advancement Scholarships at $2,000 each in cooperation with HealtheCareers
- 20 Parsons Degree Achievement Scholarships at $2,000 each
- 4 Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarships at $5,000 each in partnership with Siemens Healthcare
- 19 Varian Radiation Therapy Advancement Scholarships at $5,000 each in cooperation with Varian Medical Systems
