The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) will donate $10,000 to the American Red Cross to assist with disaster relief efforts due to Hurricane Irma.
The donation is on behalf of the ASRT's 153,000 members, according to the society. The group is working with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists to determine how many radiologic technologists were affected by the hurricane, which could be as many as 40,000.
As it is doing for members in disaster areas in Texas, the ASRT will extend the ASRT membership period for members and provide access to alternative programs so they can maintain their membership and continuing education requirements.
