The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) Foundation has named society members Maria Dimopoulos, PhD, and Lorrie LeGrand as the International Speakers Exchange Award recipients.
The ASRT Foundation funds radiologic technologists to participate in the ISEA program, which provides the opportunity for two outstanding ASRT members to travel to one international conference each year and present to an audience of their peers and other related health care professionals.
Dimopoulos will present “Identifying Radiation Therapists’ Perceptions of Potentially Triggering Aspects of Care for Sexual Violence Survivors Undergoing Radiotherapy” at the United Kingdom Imaging and Oncology Congress 2024. The conference will be held June 10 to 12 in Liverpool, England. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City, where she leads the Center in Radiation Sciences Education.
LeGrand will present “Radiation Oncology Systems and Data: How to Get the Most Out of Your Electronic Medical Record and Electronic Health Record,” at the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists national conference. The conference will be held May 24 and 25 in Saint John, New Brunswick. She is employed at the Miami Cancer Institute as the director of radiation oncology.
