The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has released a white paper that addresses the current medical imaging and radiation therapy workforce shortage.
The paper is a collaboration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT), members of the ASRT's Consensus Committee on the Future of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. The committee includes representatives from 18 radiologic science organizations, according to the society.
"Implementing the tactics outlined in the white paper will require the ongoing commitment and combined talents of our professional societies, accrediting organizations, certifying bodies, equipment vendors, health care organizations, educational institutions, and every member of our professional community," said JRCERT CEO Leslie Winter in a statement released by the ASRT.
