The Radiology Coding Certification Board (RCCB) and Coding Strategies have partnered to create 10 online coding proficiency tests for radiology.
The tests will allow users to assess their mastery of current procedural terminology (CPT) and healthcare common procedure coding system (HCPCS) code assignments for radiology services.
The online assessments consist of 40 multiple-choice coding scenarios; after an answer is submitted for each question, the user will receive feedback including the correct answer and the rationale for the coding choices, the organizations said. After successfully completing the assessment, users will receive a certificate of completion and two continuing education units for the MRI assessment, which is available now.
Additional modality assessments, each worth two continuing education credits, will be announced as they become available within the next few months and throughout the year, the groups said.
