Nonprofit organization the National Certification Corp. (NCC) has published Neonatal Imaging, a new book that aims to provide readers with a detailed understanding of issues associated with the imaging of neonates.
Written by pediatric radiologists, the 292-page book has more than 300 annotated images and discusses the basic principles of common neonatal imaging studies, the pathophysiology of pertinent diseases, and the challenges in reading and evaluating findings, according to the organization.
The book has four major sections: chest, abdomen, head, and renal systems. Each of these sections outlines the specific studies needed for the patient population and includes positioning, techniques, lines and tubes, and understanding of artifacts, the NCC said.
