Radiologists should look outside of their departments and forge multidisciplinary collaborations to further advance AI into clinical practice, according to a talk given October 22 at the Conference on Machine Intelligence in Medical Imaging (CMIMI).
In his presentation, Da Zhang, PhD, from Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School described the experiences and challenges of such collaborations, bringing the medical physicist's point of view to AI in radiology. He outlined examples, opportunities, and challenges for appropriate and successful deployment of imaging AI. Zhang's remarks were delivered at the Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM)-hosted meeting.
