BALTIMORE, MD (PRWEB) - Radiology portal AuntMinnie.com, part of Science and Medicine Group, has launched a new content section called Board Review that is designed to help radiologists pass their board certification exam. Board Review is debuting at this week's Association of University Radiologists (AUR) annual meeting in Baltimore.
Like all medical specialists, radiologists must pass a board certification exam in order to become licensed to practice medicine once their specialty training is complete. This exam is designed to assess their mastery of the skills and knowledge they have learned through years of residency training.
In the case of radiology, the certification exam can include hundreds of questions on human anatomy, disease conditions, and differential diagnoses -- for diagnostic challenges that could be caused by one of several disease states.
AuntMinnie's Board Review is designed to help radiology residents prepare for the board certification exam with a bank of hundreds of questions that are formatted to simulate the actual test. Board Review test questions include relevant medical images and clinical histories, along with multiple-choice questions that test each participant's knowledge.
Board Review is also structured like the actual board exam itself, with categories that reflect the different anatomical areas and medical imaging modalities most likely to be encountered by a practicing radiologist. Board Review participants can focus on particular areas where they think they need help or randomize the question bank to be presented with topics from a variety of clinical areas.
Radiologists can also choose to take the exam with a timer and suppress question answers and explanations to better simulate the exam environment.
What's more, Board Review is available for free to the entire AuntMinnie.com membership of over 161,000 radiology professionals.
"Board Review is one of a number of new products AuntMinnie.com is launching that are designed to help radiology professionals manage their careers and keep informed of the latest developments in this vibrant medical specialty," said Craig Overpeck, AuntMinnie.com CEO. "We plan to continue adding to this free resource in the months to come."
Board Review is on display at AUR 2019 from April 9 through 12 at AuntMinnie's booth. The section can be reached online at boardreview.auntminnie.com.
