Children with cancer can have immune reactions visible on PET/MRI after receiving COVID-19 vaccines, a recent study has found. As reported in our most highly viewed story of the week, researchers from Stanford University determined that these patients had postvaccination thymus activation and local lymph node activation.

Meanwhile, the American Cancer Society (ACS) released an updated lung cancer screening guideline this week. The new ACS guideline, which is now in concordance with the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force’s recommendation, would expand eligibility to include five million more adults than the society’s previous recommendations from 2013.
