DeJarnette offers multislice CT software

DeJarnette Research Systems of Towson, MD, is set to release software that can break up a consolidated CT study into its component studies automatically. The product, named Breakaway, matches parsed studies to the proper orders and sends them to workstations or a PACS as separate studies.

The application was developed to differentiate multiple anatomical studies conducted on a single multislice CT scan. The company said that Breakaway will permit archiving and billing for each ordered study, and will match images with their corresponding order in a RIS.

The company is scheduled to install the first Breakaway system at the Baltimore VA Medical Center.
